Women need to be empowered! we may be from different walks of life and maybe our relationship status is different. But what remains the same is our common bond of being mothers. No matter if we have 1,2,3,baby daddies...the truth is the kids have to be supported. When a woman is empowered educationally, mentally and financially she has the greatest potential to succeed.

         in response to revspiritwomyn...

To revspirtwomyn's comment and scripture quote........Couldn't of said it better myself.

        To my fellow mankind

There are people that give blindlessly to the so called "Charities that say they are for a worthy cause.",like for example hypothethically speaking someone would rather donate their car to a Charity across town when there is a single mother who lives in the community or nearby that walks a mile to the store for milk for her kids. Or someone who needs a job to support their family and simply has no way to commute.Their are real people, real families who are to be found here on this site and elsewhere who could use personal help.

Are people only motivated to give when it comes down to a tax write off from a church or non-profit? What happens to seeing a family in need and helping directly. Is it a trust factor going on here that they feel the people here and else where asking for help are liars,scammers..e.t.c but if they go through a church or non profit organization this is safer and the church or organization will be completely responsible and honest when dealing with donations. After all not all of the money or things such as cars donated goes to actual receipents. There is a profit to be made for the church or organization. They need money to get by also. You may see a car on the auction being sold for profit that was donated to one of these places, that same car could of been donated to a family in need.

Has anyone ever considered just how many people really do receive some of the donations? Let me be honest here I am not saying that this never happen's for I have been through the process,Thank God for churches and organizations. However, those of  you that do have a few thousands to spare when your a millionare or a few million to spare when your a billionare. You can lose a actual connect with real people. Get caught up in the writing checks to Organization,church,e.t.c. Of course because you have to do something with your money or let the government take it. Why not be an hero to a few families directly,I am sure you will find that you can make a difference in the lives of real people when you personally see that they are on their feet.

There is countless ways to help an individual or family, that can be done without the help of a church or organization.

        Some Ideas:

        • How about directly paying a bill,perhaps paying a few months..maybe a year?
        •  Would it hurt to make sure a family has electricity and gas the whole winter, when you are a millionare.
        •  It wouldn't hurt someone well off to buy walmart gift cards of $100 and give them to a few families.
        • What about being a car hero and purchasing cars and give to the needy directly. I am not saying it has to be brand new but used is better than nothing.  Trying to ask a church for these things isn't easy.
        • How about leaving a box of household supplies on the doorsteps of a family in need.
        • Give a single mother the gift of a maid/nanny for a year! to help her.
        • What about saving a house from foreclosure!
        • or buying a foreclosed/hud home to fix up for a needy family.
        • How about being the dollar store hero.
        • Help the poor establish and repair credit.

No real offense to Church or Non-profit

However, most churches aren't doing these things,to give people what they really need and want will take the giving directly. The food pantry is the most frequent avaliable resource,God bless them all for giving something to the hungry. but it really isn't enough.

Spread the love of God around all year, not just in time for christmas. Whether a little everyday by helping the person in line who is short on change. Maybe buying an hungry homeless person lunch or buying beds for needy children. Random acts of kindness go a long way!

This is Goodwill and if I was in a position where I can help others I would be glad to do acts of kindness. Not for publicity either, pure geniune generosity and the love of God. If we as a people would take care of each other we could reduce poverty. poverty is the number one reason why other problems exsist.

I apologize if some of my points were out of context or even repeated. This issue is a deep one with me and I hope that for the sake of mankind many will find peace and comfort in the comment I replied to.It was such a good, good comment. It should be taken into consideration.

        Godbless,

in response to bipolar and lost...

I am truly sorry to hear that,I will keep your brother and wife and dogs in my prayers.

Allow me to share some ideas on how to help

        • wishuponahero.com,it would be a wish their but it may have some effect. They allow you to have a paypal button.
        • Also maybe his former department can help? you know do a callaborated effort.
        • Set up a fund for your brothers benefit at the bank(where donations will be accepted).
        • Then if you can get the attention of local news media,it would be good.
        • I also was thinking.....You are an excellent writer what about writing a press release about the story? just like you told it here.
        • Do a video that shares the story.

Well,I certaintly hope you can do something A.S.A.P. You are a good brother and brother in law. They are blessed to have you in their corner.

Hi, I just wanted to thankyou for your service. I hope you don't mind some of my personal opinions here.

I can't believe the woman you married and had children with did you like that! shame on her. You are a handsome man obviously taking care of your family. I know as a woman it gets lonely,I am sure to be a wife of a soilder it has to be. But still respect is respect!I mean you put a ring on it! the girl lost her mind for a cheap thrill.

I will speak for women who haven't been fortunate to have a man like you.....you deserve better. It should of never come down to the point you have to sell your car. I am sorry to hear that.

I am hoping you can recover all that is lost and as far as relationships...boy have I learned they aren't always worth it!

Except the children are blessings....stay strong!

I know what you mean. We go a good two weeks usually very low on food. Our stamps don't come in till the 11th! Maybe you can go to a food pantry,I know sometimes they have old stuff or gross stuff...hopefully you will be blessed today!

Also if you buy staples like oatmeal, grits, pastas, rice, noodles e.t.c Trust me you can stretch out meals. Buy chicken stock to make soups with the rice, pastas and noodles. oatmeal is a good filler anytime of the day. And the roman noodles A.K.A Oddles and Noodles are delicious!!!!and cheap!

I hope you will be o.k.

One thing I have learned in my years...(not that I am old..lol)

        1. sometimes the ones closest to you won't help!

        2. sometimes the ones you know that are in the position to help won't!

I have been in the same boat where you just need a little to reach the goal and you get the cold shoulder. Like now I need $1,469+ dollars to get the gas back on so I and my kids won't be kicked off the housing program, this would endanger us to be homeless. Before I got this place I needed $2,000 to move in.Only asked for help with making up $500.

Let's just say NO HELP THERE!

Lesson learned your own people are not dependable. Sometimes strangers step in and help.

I wish I can help but wouldn't be able to cover shipping. Don't have much my little baby is going on 7 months. He never had much either.

        Maybe you can get help from;

        • Human services for your county maybe they can get you vouchers and financial assistance.
        • Your local township.
        • catholic charities.
        • Local churches and organizations.
        • Freecycle.org and Craigslist "free stuff",or post wanted.
        • Wishuponahero.com,  You can post your wish and make a walmart list too!

I really hope you can find help,I know what it's like to not have everything. Please also keep in mind that the greatest resource of all is God.

Comment on: About Don't Use Credit Cards

Posted in Don't Use Credit Cards on Jul 27, 2009

Your somewhat right about not using credit cards,

Credit cards can be a nightmare and have caught the attention of our government they are now being regulated more. Those interest rates were murder!

On the contrary they can be very handy because of the convience. What people make mistakes on is using then for every little thing there is like buying a pack of gum.Don't use credit unless it's for emergency or perhaps a big purchase.

Credit can also be used as to establish credit and if paid on time good credit history. Of course if you don't want to use traditional credit cards. A prepaid  credit card with a visa and Mastercard logo works just as well! you can use these cards as a way to establish better credit.

In my business I have Telecom products and also credit cards to offer. If a consumer wants to make an educated decision on purchasing credit cards they should comparision shop. Don't answer all the Credit Card offers in the mail. I used to get those all the time and I had them to stop the solicitation.

Their target was lower income people who would jump at the chance to get a card.Taking a look at the interest it was 2 big digits! Thanks to the internet you can find a trusty source of credit products or go to your bank.

The best advice I ever heard was to use credit wisely.

        Self study

Posted in Discussing "ADULT EDUCATION" on Jul 26, 2009

While figuring out how will I pay for my realestate course. I have also took the liberty to self study. For someone with no money and not a lot of time and resources. The public Library can be a excellent source.

To self study also gives the advantage of knowledge before actually taking a course. for things lije Real Estate it is like learning a new language. Especially when you are an Adult learner. It is so much different from learning as a kid or a teen. My day is busy and I am always sure to have kids getting on my nerves..lol.

The will to succeed is heavingly on my mind. I don't ever want to see another day living in poverty. For me to become a Real estate agent then 2 years later a Broker. It will be a career good enough to raise my children comfortably.

Posted in REBECSHEL on Jul 26, 2009

        Hello,

Looks like we're in the same boat! No car,No Home (possibly),No Money! I have 5 kids to start school, one I wish could go to preschool(no car),and two in diapers.

Churches haven't been that helpful and funds are scarce. Certain services aren't avaliable in my area. It is a very scary time. A time of real need.

I hope you will get through this,I hope you will be able to keep shelter for your kids...I know you want to stay in your home. So do I....we got to pray. Thank God in advance, you will get through this. I know it is so hard to do.I know it's hard to look at your kids feeling like a failure. I am in a state of confusal not knowing what tommorow will bring.....but did we ever know it'll come.

I have no more words to say for today is another hurtful day!I battle the misery and try to crack a smile at the same time. With the weight of the world on my shoulder. I do care for my fellow mom struggling like me.

May God bless 10 x as greater than before,
